“AIoT-based Drone Systems” lecture held in cooperation with MECOnet

Within the framework of the ARCA – ARtificial intelligence platform to prevent Climate change natural hazArds (Project No. IPA-ADRION00107), co-funded by the Interreg VI-B IPA Adriatic Ionian Programme, MECOnet supported the organisation of the AIoT EDU event hosted by MANT.

As a project partner within ARCA, MECOnet contributed to the successful implementation of the event and participated through its representatives, further strengthening collaboration between academia, industry and the innovation ecosystem.

On 20 January 2026, the session titled AIoT-based Drone Systems was delivered by invited experts Prof. dr Marko Simeunović and Dejan Jokić, together with representatives of the University of Donja Gorica, MoDrone and Burch University. The presentation highlighted the use of AI-powered drone systems integrated with IoT technologies for forest monitoring, LiDAR-based modelling and early wildfire detection.

The topics addressed are directly aligned with ARCA’s objectives, particularly the development of AI models and IoT infrastructure for predicting and preventing climate change-induced natural hazards in the Adriatic–Ionian region IPA-ADRION00107_AF_V4.0.

Through initiatives such as AIoT EDU, ARCA partners continue to promote knowledge exchange and innovative technological solutions aimed at enhancing climate resilience and protecting forest ecosystems.
