On 17th of April 2025, MECOnet has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Parks of Montenegro.
The MoU proclaimed the readiness of both parties to engage in activities of mutual interest, specifically in context of the IPA ADRION Interreg “ARtificial intelligence platform to prevent Climate change natural hazArds (ARCA) project, a beneficiary of which is MECOnet.
The parties recognized the benefits of science, in specific digital technologies for the preservation of the environment, prevention and management of natural disasters and other environmental hazards. They also recognized the importance of education and training of personnel in terms of the use of innovative technologies, as well as the need for developing such technologies.
As a concrete in their mutual cooperation, the parties agreed to enable MECOnet to install the appropriate number of devices, including but not limited to “IoT sensors”, at specific locations in the national parks of Montenegro, with the aim of monitoring natural disasters and other threats to the environment and the environment, in accordance with ARCA’s project mission.
The MoU was signed by the representative of MECOnet, prof. dr Radovan Stojanović and the director of National Parks of Montenegro, Marinela Đuretić.
