Medical Wearables Without RF?

We are pleased to share that our latest paper has been published in the journal Sensors (MDPI):

“Medical Data over Sound—CardiaWhisper Concept”

We present CardiaWhisper, a novel system for transmitting biomedical signals (ECG, PPG, RR, ACC) using sound instead of RF/Bluetooth. Key features:

  • Near-ultrasound acoustic transmission
  • Real-time decoding via standard web browsers
  • Low-power operation
  • EMI-free—safe for sensitive medical environments
  • Cross-platform implementation (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)

This approach offers an accessible, eco-friendly, and cost-effective alternative for medical wearables, especially in telemedicine and RF-restricted environments.

This paper presents results of the research conducted within HealthTalk Project.
